Yep, can Yosam join us on the A1 and then pick up DRC further down.

Everyone agree with the A46 route instead of the M1?

scotch corner hotel car park at 9am is fine with me - easy to spot each other

Growing nicely, should be a good drive down, yep agreed the A46 would be the preferred route as I do suffer a bit from wheelnut syndrome.

So.... as I haven't a clue where I'm going I going to follow Steve

I've been driving up and down to Leicester recently.

Best route straight south is A1, A614, A6097 then onto the A46 to the M1.

Cuts out the 14 miles of 50mph roadworks on the miserable M1.

I think us few from the Hull area will be setting off earlier and so be an hour of two in front.
Maybe get chance to travel back with a few of you, those returning on Sunday anyway.
Si.

Here's a planning itinerary for anyone wanting to join the convoy. If you want times in between I can add them as I have this saved in google maps.

Route is simply A1, A614, A6097, A46, M1, M69, A46 into Stoneleigh.

Assuming a 9am start at Scotch Corner Hotel:

Scotch Corner - Depart 9.00
Wetherby Services - Depart 9.50
Ferrybridge (M62) - Pass by 10.10
Blyth Services - Depart 10.45
Join A614 - 10.55
Join A6097 - 11.15
Join A46 - 11.30
M1 Leicester Forest Services - 12.00
Stoneleigh Showground - ETA 12.30

Please shout if you want to join anywhere along the length.

Steve

Can't you guys coming from further north drag yourselves out of bed a few hours earlier?

Would be nice to arrive at Stoneleigh about 10:30ish.

Phil

There are at least 3 of us in Hull that want to go earlier. Possibly meet at Blyth at 8.30?

As it look's like it's just me and Ben coming down from Newcastle, I don't think we'll be able to set off in time to get down to Wetherby for 7.30 am. Would mean a 6.00am departure, with getting up at a very un-godly hour.

Save us a car sized space and a tent pitch at the camping and we'll follow down at our own pace.

Cheers

Mike

Steve (aka Coozer) kindly did this:

Route is simply A1, A614, A6097, A46, M1, M69, A46 into Stoneleigh.

Assuming a 9am start at Scotch Corner Hotel:

Scotch Corner - Depart 9.00
Wetherby Services - Depart 9.50
Ferrybridge (M62) - Pass by 10.10

We'll be at A1 Blyth Services on Sunday between 8:30 and 9:30

Phil

Mike, if you pretend it's a work day and drag yourself away from your duvet, I'm sure you could get down to Blyth services on the A1 for 9:30. You can have a lie-in on Monday

Hellfire, that is too close to a work day for comfort!!! I don't do early mornings when I'm not at work.

And I don't get lie in's with a solar powered son!
