Now this is why I like powerful cars, I've had some sheds in my youth and had to put up with all these up my rear while I was flooring it to overtake the wagon and let them past.

Now I've got this Mondeo I just drop a gear and floor it.

The Astra I had was best, booting it in the turbo range made it kick out the thickest cloud of smoke I've ever seen so flooring it from people was a load of fun. What wasn't fun was the time when I eased off to slow down for the roundabout and a pair of headlights appeared out of the fog! The smeghead in the Audi (coincidence?) had been following so close I couldn't see him!

I must admit that one of my pet stereotypes was broken on Sunday - generally I dislike 4x4s 'cos they're usually driven as status symbols rather than as off-roaders.

While driving back from Duxford I saw a brown 4x4 - I don't know what colour it was meant to be, but it was 100% mud colour from tyres to roof (apart from the front windscreen, of course...). Now THERE'S someone who knew what a 4x4 is for!

On my way home on Monday up the M6 Iwas cruising past a line of cars in lane 2 when I spotted a 911 closing up rapidly behind me. So I gave it a quick squirt of gas, cleared the cars in the middle lane and moved over and past came the 911...with a 206cc about 6" off his rear bumper driven by a young woman. Must have been doing close to a ton!

My other thought on tailgaters is: I've got a big car, with lots of airbags, a nice crush space in the boot and a 5 star safety rating, let them sit on my bumper

True, has anyone had a crash in theirs? Did it hold up well?

I doubt anyone would live to tell the tale if they had a bad crash in a se7en.

have you not noticed the floorpans look very much like two coffins?

in my experiance ive allways found people driving kit cars to drive like nobs, as they only really go out to drive for a reason, its happened afew times where there have been dodgy overtakes, for some reason they seem to think they are like motorbikes and they are normal chasing them, ohh and subaru drivers, and bmw drivers, and young kids, and old people

Well I crashed mine last month from a mechanical failure. Pulled me off the road, hitting a kerb and going down a ditch at well country lane speeds.

It held OK. Cant say id want to experience it again!! Reckon if Id have hit anything solid or coming other way it'd be a different story!

And thinking bout it they do look like two coffins lol

I agree there are plenty of knobheads that drive scoobies, but its not isolated to that marque alone.
I have had a subaru road car a few years ago and had my moments, but didnt and still dont, take any un neccessary risks.

I currently own an Indy blade, subaru rally car and a BMW 335d....so where does that put me in the descriptions above?....I dread to think...lol

i was looking at paintball grenades the other day. Imagine one attached to your back bumper - that would put off tailgaters! Pull the pin and 7 secs later their windscreen is pink!

My brother had a 309, had a separate washer bottle for the rear wiper, so he filled that with paint and pointed it backwards

It does work
