After watching the VW racing on motors tv I think I'd fit one out of a caddy, theres a guy who races a diesel caddy van and boy does that shift.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

2.2 DTi Vauxhall Omega? Think that was X20XEV based...and comes in RWD! No idea how tuneable it is though...and Vauxhall ECUs of that era really like to talk to the ABS unit...

Aftermarket Diesel ECUs are not going to be cheap, as common-rail piezo injector ones might actually fire 3 or more times per injection cycle to make them run smoother (quieter) - or even at all!

Long live RWD...

I'm sure I've seen diesel chipping around, might not be massively different and give me loads more power but it'd be a start.

I'm thinking V6, around the 2.5l mark, should be good for around 300bhp somehow

my rocket is completely un-silenced and isnt noisy at all. it does inject fuel upto 6 times per cycle... at over 20,000psi

vaux dti engines are CRAP. noisy, clattery, unresponsive and generally feel agriculutural.

i dunno about diff ratios. in 6th gear i do 36mph per 1000rpm. bonus of using standard FWD gearbox.
