My bosses son had an accident little while ago in the snow.

Someone span infront of him, he tried to change lanes to get out the way, but still hit the guy in the back.

Insurance company said it was his fault for being too close, said that if its a single carriageway and you hit someone in the back its 100% your fault
If it's a double carriageway theres a possiblity of not being your fault, 90% instead !!!

Unless of course you have some sort of evidence that the guy was reveresing up the carriageway or something.

So claire shouldnt have any problems

Women drivers...

(only joking)

Seriously, what is with all those people who seem allergic to keeping a safe distance? I've already been hit in the back in my Mondeo, but have driven it un-repaired since - with an already knackered car, it's sometimes tempting to jump on the brakes when t*ssers sit on your tail...

Given that I, apparently, would be at risk of being at fault, I'm glad I haven't.

Glad you're okay, Claire - it's a bad month for cars, I think...

Yeah the 3 inch towrope isn't a small car feature, although it is fun when you can drop the cogs and leave them standing! My Astra was great for that not only did it shift but it left a cloud of smoke so thick you had to cut your way through it! Lost an Audi in there once with his headlights on

I've now spoken to the other driver and got the reg number (and what car it was - all I could say was that it a silver one )
She did say in the phone that I just stopped dead..........erm , not quite what I remember
I have driven the same road since , and figured I was going from second to third at around 30mph , and coasting in nuetral for some distance before tapping the brake - any good driver would have already covered the brake and been prepared to take some kind of avoiding action , rather than just accelerating into the back of me
Off for the assessment tomorrow - I decided to take it to them rather than wait a few weeks for them to come to me (they say they are stacked out at the moment......)

Its cuz I is blond , innit

Claire xx

Will weld for food......
