.....yep, a nice big crack (!) in the liner of no. 3 cylinder. Bugger.
Was half hoping it was the gasket as it would have made for a nice easy fix. Oh well, have a cuppa then back out to pull the motor out I suppose...

Bad luck - is your spare engine a good one, or is it a question of try it and see?

There's some suspicion re: the head or gasket, but I'm only intending on using the bottom half of the motor so hopefully there won't
be any problems........
