Using measurements taken at the junkyard, I have built a 1/8 scale model of the 7M-GTE motor. It's absolutely MASSIVE, and doesn't really
fit in my book chassis model.. Will have to build a +442 model to test that.
Check my photo archive for pictures of the model engine. The intake and turbo manifolds were made by bending heating hot glue sticks with a lighter
and holding them in shape 'til they cooled.
The wood on the engine is 1/8 inch thick basswood planks cut, boxed, and layered.
This was easier for me than 3D modeling.

How about putting the drive train (engine, gearbox, front and rear subframes) on the floor in the garage. Then make up a siplified full scale chassis
model using 2 by 2 wood. You can then make sure you fit and take the required dimensions from the model.

You might want to have a look here:
http://www.angelfire.com/biz6/stalkerv6/
The Stalker uses a V6 engine (sometimes supercharged) in a locost style chassis. Being a V6, it is much shorter.
I know, it's not a supra engine

Yeah, I've seen the stalker, and the other V8 types. They were partially an inspiration to go big.
Laying out the drivetrain in the garage is an excellent idea, but I don't have a donor yet, and really want to figure out if everything fits
BEFORE buying a donor.
I have some measurements which should hopefully give me a nearly exact measurement for the transmission and good approximation of the propshaft.
