In Runcorn years ago, a new housing development was built. A chap moved in to his house before the roadworks were finished properly. He paid a small
fortune for 6ft high wrought iron double gates to go with the 6ft wall around the property. A few weeks later the council came along and installed the
street lighting. Yes, you guessed it. Bloody great concrete lamp post, on the pavement, right in the middle of his gates.
