my son went, Lars is ill so Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dave Lombardo(Slayer), Flemming(Lars' drum tech) took the seat drumming. They had to shorten their set to about 11 songs because everything was running late, they still played well though.

Metallica- truly the greatest!

There was even a 30minute programme on BBC World Service at 1.30am about them Monday night.
Candid interviews with the whole band loads of tunes etc. etc. not bad for the World Service!

I was there. All seemed a bit suss to me, especially after Slayer failed to make the main stage and had to play at the Barfly tent because of "transport problems"
But then I'm cynical since it was such a badly organised event.

Anyone remember the real Donnington festival.....Monsters or Rock.
See the biggest name bands in the world on the same bill for about £25. Camp next to your car/bike (not 2 miles from it) have huge fires and take your own beer into the circuit.
Oh happy days...

When I'm in my more mellow moods:

Sarah McLachlan
Delerium
Dido
Drop Nineteens
David Gray
Mazzy Star
The Sundays

When I'm more upbeat:

Alice In Chains
Faith No More
Linkin Park
Ministry
Placebo

etc...

An ecclectic mix, don't you think?
