Love the idea of a rotary in one of these! Such a compact engine. RX8 is quite an underrated car too imo

Could you have not done a cheeky swap with the white RX-8 you passed? Or did his engine blow up by the end too That looked v quick though, shame
the motors just aren't reliable.

I m gonna rebuild it ! 1 more engine as it only took out e shaft and rotor and most parts are reusable....my plates are bridge ported for more power.
i'm 99% sure oil surge which wouldve taken a piston engine out as well. so few mods to sump....deeper and baffled and thermostat controlled oil
coolers. Come this far.....engines done circa 2000 miles.
oil starvation....

gearbox fits in narrow! (On wood at mo)
could not fit any rotors in here.....on serious note this drops the car down to Class B and should then be competitive....if you race a rotary they
apply a co eff to your engine size....which nobbles you b4 you start.
this is a tried and tested route no pioneering here.

little update...been a while....The s2000 engine and box is still in garage as would have written off summer track fun doing the conversion. So stuck
the spare rotary engine in with a new baffled gated sump from the US of A. been using alot on the road. much fun.
look on ebay over the winter and find a kitcar needing a new engine and box and have 2 !

well all up in air atmo.....seem to have fubared my shoulder somehow so currently waiting on the consultants prognosis! looks like 8 weeks after op of
doing nothing. So just sold the s2000 engine in tall block as couldnt see it happening this winter. I cant drive car atmo for any great length of time
defo not a track day how i want to drive it so it wait and see time after op if i can continue to drive the Westy.
the spare is in and running great but has not been subjected to a track day. Has not got the power of the old 1 and miss that power. Im probably
gonna do 1 more rotary engine either build this 1 myself or pay a little more and get it rebuilt with warranty.....racing think its done before its
started.....cant really compete with the budgets involved and trackdays offer so much more seat time.

Just watched your Hullavington vid - that was my first outing with my blue & white Ginetta that you passed near the start. What's the rotary
like on fuel when you're giving it some?
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be...

On track with an RX8 renesis you'll get similar MPG to other cars with similar power and weight.
She's a greedy bugger when poodling around town though.

I was gonna say the say as above ! i have a 51 plate wrx wagon...it does 200 miles to £50...get 200 miles outta £60.00 in my road rx8. i dont poodle
anywhere. the rex is faster too just!
On track i fill the 20L tank and take 30L with me...i get through it all to 1/4 of tank at Hullavington and got home knackered countless sessions.
factor a little in for premix in the tank. comparable cost.....i once put my evo 8 i had road keevil for a track day and had to refill the tank at
lunch time...that was awful.
Im staying rotary put so much work into it i cant quit when i nearly there. oil surge killed the engine that happens too fast piston engines as well
on circuit, solve and move on.

glad you've seen sense,
I love a rotary, Had multiple RX7s and RX8s.
Also spoke with Carl Hayward about an engine for a spare chassis I have,
I think the rotary 7 will happen but probably not with a Hayward motor.

Cool, I'd heard the rotary was similar to piston engine fuel wise running at full chat. If the Zetec in mine goes pop it'd be a nice
compact engine/box install to try.
Speaking of fuel, last time out at Hullavington with me and a mate driving we did 85 odd litres of fuel, the car was running pretty much 40 mins of
every hour mind. Got through some brakes too! All good fun though...
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be...

Hi Rich.
I've spent a fair bit of time down at Eras place.
I had an engine in an old car that was ported by Era and built up by Jon Goodwin that used to do time attack in the RX7 FC.
That's where I'd be going for a motor
