RSV Mille

I have aquired an RSV Mille engine with everything inc. Power Commander

Is the Mille compatible if I was to use it in a mid engined single seater (My design) for hill climb's/sprints and occasional track days

I have done a search and a few members say that the blade's etc. are better due to the high rev's and having torque like a twin is useless and you may aswell build a CEC

I know a member on here has used a twin engine already...

I hoping to keep total weight below 400kg...A complete bike weighs 190kg

You build what you want. If the engine is not competitive, change it later.

if you can build it light enough go for it but lack of revs meant low gearing to get the best performance form my tl motor so 100mph was flat out to achieve a 13 sec 1/4 mile. on the plus side you can fit a pair in a middy quite comfortably

I second that - it's your choice so do it how you want.

The Mille is a fantastic bike, and the motor is an absolute peach. There's a very healthy dollop of torque throughout the rev range so no need to keep it at the rev limiter to get the most from it.

It's already got a dry sump arrangement so most of the engine work is already done as well.

Finally back on the job!

I considered a mille when I built mine. It is a nice compact engine if fitted with the cylinders across the car. Choose the right gearing and it will be a rocket.

I've got a Mille in my STM/Aries but it's not on the road yet. Pathfinder is another using this motor. His has been out but I don't think that his is SVA'd yet.
It would be a lot easier install in a middy than a 7.

The torque is actually no higher than a 4 pot but it is spread better. It is also deceptively revvy for a twin (11k red line) and the noise is quite sweet too.

I would use it, It is a very charismatic engine makes an addictive noise, and pulls like a train all the way from 3 to 9k and of course has a free dry sump fitted. You could fit it quite easily in a middy.

Go on do it, you know it makes sense !

Does anyone know how the Aprilia Falco is restricted?

Ive found a few engines around and about local bike breakers

The RSV Mille produce's 138hp & 107nm of torque

Where the Flaco produce's 104hp & 91nm of torque

Is it the same engine and restricted by the ECU?
