Gordon Murray
The man that designed the Maclaren F1 car, he is in the papers today with a new type of car the T25. It will be smaller than a Mini (old style) have a
spaceframe chasis with plastic bodywork, will be quick and do about 80MPG. Sounds like kit car to me.

Prof. (Ian) Gordon Murray[ (born 1946 in Durban, South Africa) is a renowned designer of Formula One race cars and the famous McLaren F1
'supercar' road car.
In 1981 he was involved in improvements to the Midas Cars
From 1991-2004 Murray headed up the off-shoot McLaren Cars team to design road-going supercars: the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
Murray also independently designed the Rocket, an ultra-lightweight, open cockpit roadster powered by a 1-litre motorcycle engine, which has an
appearance similar to that of a 60's era Grand Prix car. It was built by former racing driver Chris Craft at the Light Car Company.
Murray has been appointed director of advanced concepts at Caparo Vehicle Products, and is part of Project Kimber, a group who are redesigning the
Smart Roadster to be rebranded as an AC.
Murray is also a regular columnist for the performance oriented British Evo Magazine, and a contributing editor for American Road & Track. [5]
In July 2007 the Gordon Murray Designconsultancy was established, and released initial details regarding its upcoming T25 (Type 25) prototype city car
along with mention of a future lightweight, economical supercar project. The T25 will be smaller than a smart fortwo.

He says all the right things, though someone should teach his copywriter about apostrophes. The concern for me is that the model of the car is 3/4
the width of the smart next to it and shorter front to back as well. I've owned two smarts and they're not the widest car or longest of
cars. Packing efficiency is all very well but two seats in that little space will be a squeeze. I know 'cos I'm building a car smaller
than a smart at the moment and it's not as small as the T25.

Murray thought that a midas fitted with an Alfasud four in the back would be the ideal sport car. The Midas mainly because of the construction.
He was so taken by the Midas body unit that he took on the man who designed it (Harold McDermott or something) to do bodywork for the F1.
His new venture shows what you can do with a bit of venture capital behind you!

In reality he is taking credit by copying the small cars you can buy here in France.

Steer well clear of those in rural France - they're driven exclusively by drunk old bastards who've lost their licences - you don't
need ANY sort of licence to drive them, so are a favourite with disqualified drivers.
