Easy start addiction
Over the years ive heard several times people saying that if you use easy start regularly on a car that the car gets addicted to it. How can this be
so?
Sounds like an old wives tale to me. Anyone got a technical reason to back up the statement?

i think its more of the engine needs it to start so there is a problem with the engine so rather than fixing it they keep using the easy start and the
problem gets worse so then the only way to start it is on easy start and therefore gets addicted to it
I may be wrong but thats how i see it

I thought easy start was used simply to get reluctant engines to start. It does nothing to whatsoever to cure the actual cause. So how can you say
needs it anymore after prolonged used than when you first used it…
Btw spray it behind an airgun pellet and it doubles the fire power
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

I think it comes back to what you are trying to do.
If a vehicle won't start easily, one reverts to using easy start. The vehicle starts, all hunky dory! Next time you try to start the engine,
you haven't solved the problem why it wasn't starting you try to start it, still no joy, out comes the easy start. Pretty soon, if you
don't track down why it aint firing up easily, you drop a stage out two out of this process and hence you say, 'the only way I can start
this is with easy start'! Bingo - that's why!
You only live once - make the most of it!

I am not so sure. I have an old tractor that is addicted to easy start - without it it just wont go. I know what you are saying though but I just
can't see how the poor compression and broken glow plug switch could be affecting it.
Today is a good day: I achieved new heights of ineptitude.

My lawnmower is addicted to hairspray and deodorant. Easy start is much to good for it.
Still like the look of suprise on my daughters face when I borrowed her stinky stuff in a pink can to get the bugger started..so she could mow the
lawn
Cant think why it works first time when you use some down the carb. Do spark plugs go off or does the petrol left in the can from 3 seasons ago
change its self back to the nasty chemicals it was made with.......

You are only using the butane propellent in the can as a fuel.
Squirt any can of anything in front of a flame, if it ignites, it will probably be enough to start an engine.
Its only a crude version of LPG (LPG is only Propane).
Petrol left for any amount of time will have its high order spirits vapourised off. Hence the fuel becomes "stale" You then use some gas
(in the hairspray) to beef up the fuel and start the engine.
Do a Google for Spud Cannons and see what they use as a propellent... mainly hairspray. Its the butane in the propellent which now replaces the
CFC's they used to use.
Easystart is simmilar and used to contain Ether so it ignited under compression in a diesel.
If an engine needs Easystart, its either Fookin Cold. Or the engine is worn out and has low compression (in a diesel).
I've never needed easy start with a petrol engine.
