1.6 zetec (silver top)
hi, would like to know if anyone has used this engine in any kits?? And does anyone know where i can source some new piston rings for this engine at a
reasonable price?? regards ben

I used 1 in mine until recently never had any probs with it, If you are looking for rings i take it you have damaged ones on yours.

well i bought it knowing that it needed knew rings and the cheapest ones ive found are from burton and they were £84??? does that sound dear??

Not really you'll pay that sort of price anywhere, plus take into account if you are replacing the rings you will need gaskets etc might be
worthwhile looking for something that runs.

if it's a stock engine, just get yourself another engine, they're cheaper then the rings alone.

As said mate its cheaper to buy another complete engine than a set of rings. 1.6's are cheap as chips.
Why does it need rings?

Buy another engine.
Mine cost me £105 for an 1800cc that had only done 30k. Price included delivery.

got my ring from local factor £37 inc vat
my local engine rebuilder quoted £55 + vat
