Optimate
Can anyone recommend where to get the Optimate 4 charger from at a good price?
Cheapest I have found it for is £36.95 plus delivery.
Cheers

ALDI also sell them from time to time -- just a question of watching for when they get them in.
Very good bit of kit.

If it's for a car, I'd go for the accumate....

37 quid sounds about right to me... Superb little bit of kit. Pretty robust too. Have accidentally shorted out the battery a few times / started the
engine with it attached etc etc and still works like day 1.....
There's a IIISP (what I use) for £32 on Ebay. Not sure how the 4 is different (other than what it looks like...)...

Just checked it out. Looks like the 4 is a IIISP with more LEDs and eye candy

I paid £37 for mine last year and I also bought one of the Aldi chargers for £12 this year to put on my bike. The cheaper ones do 6v as well, the
Optimate is only 12v, no problem as I don't have any 6v electrics and they both do the same job in the same time so if I was buying again
I'd wait and get two cheaper ones. The Optimate does a remedial charge which brought the battery on my daughter's car back from the
dead, might be a deal clincher.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

If you're anywhere near York you can probably pick one up for £30 from Rufforth autojumble. That's how much they were when a friend bought
one before Christmas!

Performance Bikes have a CTEK charger free with a subscription.

I think Practical classics were also doing the CTEK one free with a subscription though I think they've now changed to power tools (and you
can't specifically choose which pressy you get)....
IIRC, however, PC are giving away some free CTEK chargers in their monthly giveaway.... Might be worth a punt. Think you need to send in the slip from
the magazine to win. Also got a quite sexy digital torque wrench....
