tacho input

I'm looking to put an analog rpm gauge on my kart. There are car tacho's that can select the right amount of cilinders, but they need the car type RPM wire or neg lead on the coil. The kart uses some sort of magnet that goes to a coil? From the coil/box there is a sparkplugwire to the sparkplug.

Kart gauges have a wire which goes round the sparkplugwire. I think it's called induction?

Can I fit a car tacho to my kart? Where do I need to fit the wire?

If you choose the right tacho, you can use a similar method to get the trigger...
