'92 Westfield SEIW 2.1 Vulcan Pinto

1992 Westfield SEIW 2.1 Pinto

I purchased this in January 2008 from the previous owner who lived in Bournemouth. The car was faultless on its 330 mile drive back to my house.
I have a folder full of receipts and history, admittedly my puppy got hold of the receipts but luckily nothing was ruined. Old mots etc were not destroyed and history is still in tact….puppy almost met its maker!!

The honest reason for sale is that I cant get the enjoyment out of it I want. I bought this before we were expecting our first child, now the little lad is here I cannot get in the garage on an evening to tinker on. I bought it as a hobby as much as a car to drive.
This doesn’t mean it needs hours of TLC to keep it on the road, no, its just that cars like this are fun to work on, modify, etc etc…I cant find the time and I wont let my new family life suffer, even though I love driving it.

The car was modernised by the previous owner, to have the appearance it has today. I like the mix of old style swept wings with modern alloys and interior.

Car recently went to Ron Harper, a well reputed classic car specialist in the north east with lots of racing history/knowledge. The lumenition ignition died and I fitted a mobelec system id been given. This mobelec was brand new in the box, unopened although it was quite old. This immediatley cured the misfire problem and proved the lumenition was at fault. Maybe the overcharging from failed alternator killed the lumenition.
Ron Harper was asked to check things over and give it a clean bill of health.
The carbs were tweaked slightly by him, he recommended different idle and air correction jets.
The car drove sharper with cleaner crisper sounding throttle response after this work.
Since buying, the car covered 2500 miles and 2 trackdays. Note the trackdays were totally trouble free…I even chuckled to my self when I had 10 mins out on track on my own, all other cars in getting fixed etc…
Only fails have been the alternator and subsequent misfire from failed lumenition. Now all fixed. Car runs great, starts fine in any weather and pulls great right through the rev range. It sounds brilliant too. Yes there are faster/lighter engine choices but for an all-rounder this is great.

Roof was all supplied with the car though not fitted. I made brackets up to mount the hood frame on. This all works great.

Tax is du in June 09
Mot is due in July 09 – new 12 month mot can be put on car if asking price is met

Price £5000 ovno
located near town of Redcar in the north east

To summerise it’s a great car that I love but my life has changed and I wont let the car come between me and the young lad we have now.
