If it's an `English` axle dead easy - just pull out the halfshafts and drop it out
(getting the halfshafts out is the hardest part , plus it's piggin heavy )

Its cuz I is blond , innit

Cortna Mk3 onwards are Salsbury pattern --- not engish.

2 litre fords generally used a 3.55:ratio but sometimes a 3.77
1.6 had a 3.77 but sometimes a 3.89

3.89 axles had significant differences.-- this axle can usually be spotted by 8" brakes

If you have a 4 speed gearbox it would be easier just to swap in a type 9

Thanks for the detailed reply I have changed it to the 5 speed type 9 will this have a similar effect to changing the diff to the 2 litre one??
