Don't you need Sierra track rod ends?

They are M14x2.0 as are the Escort track rods, unless it's a mark one escort rack which has imperial threads.

Cheers

Chris

Pretty much as Chris said... M14x2.0

I've just been to a local Jayar at lunchtime to pick some up as it happens. They supplied me with FirstLine branded parts and the part number was FTR 4040.

I've yet to actually try them on my rack so will report back later on that. My rack is a quick rack from Rally Design and was purchased as an Escort MK2 one.

I assume you're confident that you need M14x1.5 but if so then that's not standard Escort AFAIK.

interesting, seems the extensions from gts have changed the thread required? maybe if you give them a call on the new number (ask flak monkey if you havent got it?) darren might be able to point you in the direction of the correct track rod ends to use?

unless the thread that has been identified is the one on the actual rack...

how exactly did he do that?

don't you have a ruler?

measure ten threads, then divide by ten and there is your pitch.

if that is too diffricult, 10 threads at 1.5 mm ptich would bne 15 mm, 10 threads at 2.0 mm pitch will be 20 mm. It should be obvious which of the 2 it is.

Not according the info on here

If you use the webcat link at the top you can search by make model etc.

Drill down into Ford then Puma... then steering and they reckon M14x2.

Haven't found a Ford yet with M14x1.5 but then I've not looked at 'em all.

The ends I bought today fit my rack perfectly. Sorry Denis, no help is it?

Edit to say; just measured 10 threads on my rack end and got 20mm as per O2GF74's post so mine's deffo course.

Right fella's
Went top the motor factors (waterloo eng in Hull) who were very helpfull and patiant. We went through a big box of obsolete TRE's and found some to fit.
They said they were from a p100 whatever that is. But I am now sorted .
Sorry to put you all to so much bother .
Thanks Denis.

A P100 is a pickup truck like thing based on Cortina parts IIRC.
