Workmanship is alive and well (and on this forum!)

Hi All,

I had the pleasure of being invited round to a member on this forums workplace the other day to have a look round and take a few photos.

All I can say is WOW!

Workmanship is alive and well.

I think it's best if I don't say where this as will become apparent from the pictures, but I'll let the man introduce himself, some may already know.

see my following photos.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Hi loco,

many thanks I do quite like taking the pics, but the subject was awesome.

I'm still waiting for him to introduce himself, but some of you seem to know already!

My first thought is wowsers

Then TrevD (I actually for a second thought "ali seven - must be TrevD" .... then i realised its a 'proper' seven - hopefully thats a complement to Trev and not an insult).

Third thought is "fantastic pictures" ..... obvious tricks with depth of field which work really really well. How did you light the place? What have you used to post process? (yes i'm also jealous of the photography).

Ive only seen the top photo so far with the coils of trimmed ali, at a gues I'd say its TrevD's work place. Will post and edit if correct.

Yep Correct. His work place is just........................................................

Hi, Thanks, the lighting is either natural, or using my Nissin DI622 on the camera and remote fired, but mainly natural lighting. not a great deal of post processing, just mono conversion and a bit of sharpening, mainly done in ether Corel X2 or Adobe Elements.

Many thanks again!

Have to say it - the workplace needs a "we are not worthy" emoticon...

The photos are pretty special too. Loving the echos between the panel rivets on the Lotus(?) and the crane gantry. Good use of effect and contrast.

The place would be an excellent LCB photo project...?

Francis.

TrevD should be writing 'How to' books and making training videos.
That level of skill is rapidly disappearing and he should be declared a Living National Treasure.

Thanks trev, but your selling it short the pictures really don't so it justice.

The best way i can describe it, is when you see something so good you want to touch to make sure it's real. you know what I mean.

Thats the feeling that place gave me.

Many thanks again Trev
