I already have this one and it is very handy. But do not try to use it below 7°C, because the reading on the display goes completely nuts !!

Take the battery out when you aren't using it, these cheap verniers will drain them in a few weeks otherwise.

I prefer the manual ones as they do nto need battery... but that is a good price I think.

I also have these verniers. They are good, but they have not drained the battery in all the months it's been in my garage!

Same here. Had mine for years, stored in an unheated garage, never any problems and never needed to replace the battery?!?!

I have an ancient Mitutoyo electronic vernier caliper, at least 12 years old. It has had 2 batteries since I bought it!
The instructions say that the battery will last 12 months if I leave it switched on, 24 if I turn it off when not in use. In my case, it's more
like 48 months!
The cheapo ones do have a reputation for using batteries - but you can take 'em out, as suggested above.
