poorly 1800 silvertop
went for a first time start up today to discover 4 cylinders full of engine oil, not good, on closer inspection i also have a f***** spark plug, not
an issue as i was going to replace them anyways, whats worrying me is the oil, is there a common fault with these units for this?€

Has the oil been put down to preserve the engine by the guy who stripped it

Maybe just left stored on its side, I would only worry at this stage, just spin it over with the plugs out, new ones in and see how it runs.

I had an 1800 silvertop with the same problem, it looked good and was lowish mileage but the bores kept filling with oil.I had the head off and did
the valve stem seals but it was just as bad. After much messing about I changed it for a blacktop and have had no problems since.
Its not worth doing much with a suspect engine as the parts cost more than a replacement engine, i also had problems with the lifters pumping up at
high revs causing missfires, the black top doesnt suffer from this.
