I'm now having a blacktop fitted to my tiger Avon, I've gone for the raceline sump which is really well baffled and looks very well built. Not cheap though! Got mine from tiger for £370 + vat

It is possible to chop the bottom off the steel part and shorten it by about an inch.this brings it nearly level with the bottom of the bell housing, the hardest part is cutting down the oil pickup pipe .

i have a two part sump, that I chopped myself and mig'd back together

Silvertop sump, or sierra 1.8 CVH pressed tin sump.
