MERCEDES SLK 350 EDIT10N MODEL (CAT-D REPAIRED)

Following on from Andrews thread about Cat D cars and their 'worth' (LINKY), I thought it was about time to shift on my own Cat-D daily runner. Would consider P/X for something comfy like a BMW X3, or something completely insane that I could just look at and hardly ever drive!

Anyway...

2007 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 EDIT10N (3.5 V6 Limited Edition Special Anniversary model).

Pre-registered, then one lady owner who was involved in a mild collision after 11k miles. Damaged front end (NO engine damage!) and bizarrely written off by insurance company!!! I understand they paid out nearly £30k!

Now on HPI as a Cat-D.

Bought by me to use as my own car and professionally repaired at top bodyshop. Spent thousands on new Merc parts (I'm now the Edinburgh Mercedes Parts Dept's favorite customer!).

As the front bumper had to be replaced, I thought I may as well go the whole hog and get the one as fitted to the SLK55 AMG. This has the vents and shaped grills / fog lamps.

Car now in excellent order mechanically and cosmetically.

I previously owned as Boxster S and in my (honest) opinion the SLK350 is the better car to drive. Unfortunately, I find the seats uncomfortable, so I have decided to sell now that our (short) summer has gone!

Car has now covered 14k miles.

Right, the spec...

SLK 350 Edit10n
Three and a half litre V6.
10 years special anniversary model (limited edition).
7 speed Automatic box.
Metallic Silver with Black Leather Interior.
Mercedes Command System (Sat Nav, DVD, Disc Changer, etc).
Harmon Kardon Sound System.
Neck-Scarf Heating.
Electrically Adjustable Heated Seats.
Electrically adjustable Steering Column and Wing Mirrors.
Special Edition Anthracite Wheels (Stunning).
Directional Xenons with Wash Facility.
Telephone Prep.
Air-Con.
Cruise Control.
Both Keys.
All Books.

Not yet due its first service!

Not due first MOT until next year. Will leave whatever Tax is on the car (around 6-7 months).

First offer of £16,620 secures!

Can deliver anywhere in UK at fuel cost.

Just for info... a well known car pricing site has the following current pricing data for the model BASED ON NO DEALER OPTIONS - my car is loaded and was well over the £40k mark when bought new.

Mercedes-Benz SLK
1. 350 Edition 10 2d Tip Auto
2. 2007 07
3. Average mileage: 20,000 miles
No options selected
Original Price £38,102
Franchised Dealer £25,715
Independent Dealer £24,805
Private Good £23,215
Private Poor £19,620
Part Exchange £20,710

So even taking 'Private Poor' at £19,620 (which it certainly is not, but just for arguments sake) because it has the 'stigma' of being a minor accident-damaged repair car then this car is still coming in at £3,000 less than the scrappiest possible lump available for the year, which has no extra's, would have much more mileage and probably has a list of hidden issues!

ANY INSPECTION WELCOME! BRING A MERCEDES FACTORY ENGINEER IF YOU WANT!

Thanks for taking the time to look!
