Using tigerseal + drilling carbon fibre
Hi guys
I bonded some ally brackets to the bottom of my carbon scoop about 6pm today with "tigerseal". The brackets are stuck, but they can still
be moved from side to side a few mm. the thickness is about 1-2mm of tigerseal.
I have never used PU before, will this stuff set solid or is this as good as its gonna get? Just to add they will pull off with a bit of force.
I may have to put a rivet it to hold it secure aswell - any tips on drilling and rivettin through pre-preg cf?

Did you scratch the ali? I didn't and it sticks but not that well but I then rubbed down the ali again with some wet and dry and it sticks like
the proverbial to a blanket.

i seem to recall that there is a curing time of around 12 hrs, tho that depends on the temp around the item i suppose.

To drill cf just use some masking tape
|

Hi
I found 3m products the best thy have a two part epoxy called OE004.you must key both areas and degrease for the best results degrease with carb
cleaner,
Your riveting .there are special drills for carbon fibre ,however small wood drills work ok but blunt much quicker than specialist ones .
Make the hole in the carbon fibre a bit bigger than the one in the alu this will stop any cracking of the composite . always try test piece first
