wwwwwhhhhhiiiiiiiiinnnnnnneeeeeee...
How do i tell if my diff is bu$$ered?
Its an english diff in a Westifield casing. Used to be fitted with a x-flow but since then i have fitted an R1 and a carbon rear diffuser.
The diffuser could be keeping any noise the boot area, making it more noticable.
It whines quite a bit, yet i cant hear it at higher rpm/speeds (due to engine noise).
Its quite a loud, intence whine.

whining is a sign of general wear and tear, might be worth having a look inside at the teeth etc.
oh yeah and make sure there's plenty of oil in there of course
I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

I put 1ltr of oil in there recently (drained old oil).
From what i can tell, its loosing it from the breater, which i fitted now with a catch tank.

might be too much oil then? but if its loosing it from the breather is it getting so hot its vapourising in the diff itself? i think it would be more
along the lines of the diff throwing a splash or two out whilst operating normally.
