Brake bias

Hi Guys
How do you manage to control the brake bias, is there some form of valve mechanism you can use to control this?

all depends on which system of master cylinder you use
1 sierra inline tandem has the standard bias built into it
2 twin master cylinders with equal bore and connected to the
pedal via a bias bar which has be be welded for iva
3 single large master cylinder or twin with fixed with a brake
bias bar and using a brake biasvalve

There's a two or three of ways dependant on your set up. If you're using twin master cylinders (one for front, one for back) then you can buy a bias bar which you can alter so that different pressure is applied to each cylinder.
If not then you can get an inline brake regulator, the Fiat Uno is mentioned a lot that restricts flow to the rear brakes or you can buy an adjustable brake bias valve that doe the same as the last but is adjustable. The problem with this and the bias bar is that they have to be made non adjustable for IVA so you have to make sure they are set up proprly first before they're fixed.

Has anyone passed IVA with a bias bar set up? I though the IVA requirements for braking efficiency on a single circuit pretty much ruled them out?

Or install the adjustable one after inspection, most competition cars have adjustable brake bias either through a pedal box with dual master cylinders, or an inline unit to control rear braking only. The rear only one works well for race ending burnouts, or drag racing to warm the rear tires before launch.

You could install the bias bar and pedal box and fit a locking kit from cbs:

It says they are SVA approved but not sure about IVA? It saves you having to weld the bias bar in place making it non-adjustable. I am running a pedal box with twin cylinders (1 front/1 rear) and bias bar, and I will fit an in-line adjuster for the rear if I am struggling to ease of the rear braking with the bias bar alone.

Pinning the bias bars is not acceptable for the IVA, it has to be rendered completely incapable of being adjusted by running weld down the threads (or as someone did on here, machining a bar with fixed bias just for the test).
