Why is Aluminium so expensive now I need it?!

Just been on Parker's website, and a sheet of 2mm 2.5 x 1.25m NS4 Ali to do the floor is £78 + VAT! Two 2.5m x 1.25m sheets of 1.2mm NS4 ali to do the rest of the panels is £95! That over £170 + vat just for the ali!

Anyone know somewhere cheaper in Kent / London?

Cheers

Adrian

Try Aluminium Stockholders on Yell.com
You be able to get much lower than the ones you have.

It cant be that expensive, today I was in a shop that had the entire floor done in 8' x 4' sheets of ali checker plate, it might have been worth more than the stock on the shelves!

Spa Aluminum in Tunbridge wells should be cheaper than this, I think I paid £50 for an 8x4 sheet of 16swg.

If you talk to someone at parkers and moan you can always get the price down, at least 10% discount

about 2 months ago i got sheets of 8x4 1.2mm thick half hard, poly coated one side for 25 + vat a sheet (collected).

That was from the coventry stockholder - most other places where a lot more expensive, but they where getting it from this place so added their own mark up.

I got my aluminium from Aalco in Liverpool. 2000 x 1000 x 2mm in 5251 H22 was £30 collected.

You'd be surprised how expensive a shop floor can be. The tiles they have in supermarkets cost more than a hundred each.

Try and get some old Ali from a scrap yard.

I got mine from Aalco in Swanley.

They were very helpful on the phone and in person (I had mine collected by our driver)

Can not remember the price or size i got, but was very reasonable compaired to others.
