Mot failure Sierra - How much is it worth?

Hi All,

I've just been offered a 2 litre 'J' plate Sierra estate that has just failed its mot.

I'm going to have to pass on it BUT how much is it worth?
Scrap value or a bit more if they are getting scarce?
He is thinking of sticking it up on the Bay soon with a reserve.

Cheers

Martin

about 150-250 i guess. its worth whatever someone will pay for it. if someone's silly enough to pay 700 for one, that's their problem!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

its worth £100 scrap, any extra value depends on what parts are useable.

probably more desirable if it has a pinto engine rather than the twin cam.

doesn't make it worth a lot more though.

I've paid £100 (2.0 Pinto G plate), £25 (1.6 Pinto F plate) and £200 (2.0 Pinto A plate) for mine so far.

I'd say upto £200 depending on how much is useable - J plate should be a CVH or twin can - not as "desirable" as a Pinto (strange sentence that).

There's some J's and K's with 1600 Pintos..

All prices are all over the place. Sheds selling for stupid money, mint high spec cars not selling at all.

A 2.0GT has just made 2.2k on ebay!!! ok it had ~40k on it.. But a much beter spec 2.0i Ghia with ~70k only made £1400

The performance models are going up quickly ( XR's )

Any basic 3dr is worth £500 even without an MOT.

TT
