Crossflow Crankshaft

Hello

Been offered a replacement crankshaft for my 1600 711M crossflow by a reputable company, BUT, the numbers on my casting read '711M AD' and the one being offered reads '711M AE'.

Anyone know if these are different? Could the offered one be for a 1300?

Thanks in advance...

James

Could it relate to the year of manufacture?

AD - July 1980
AE - August 1980

^^^^ ointeresting theory.

you need to check that the throw is the same (there were at least 3 different ones for 1100, 1300 and 1600 engines) and that the journals are the same width (2 different widths).

Not sure if you can mix and match widths; probbly not.
