Am I being un reasonable - eBay
A seller has an item up for auction, a 60's car radio perfect for the jag, starting at £10 free P&P.
I figure its worth £30 to me, so bid £30 and coppers and win it.
Invoice turns up with £5 postage on it.
I've responded saying it isn't worth £35 to me, and offer it to the under bidder on a 2nd chance if he insists on the postage charge.
Not got back to me yet, and I know its only a fiver, but am I being unreasonable in refusing to pay the extra??

Just remove the £5 charge from the invoice and pay the winning bid amount only.
Wait for his response........

I think I might have an old radiomobile in my shed if you don't get sorted out - you can have it for less than £30 posted too!

Wasn't one of the many botched entries with free p&p and then "collection only" in the text? See quite a few of those.
But on the whole, it's perfectly reasonable to expect free P&P to mean £0.

Free P&P means free P&P in my book.
Tell them that you'll pay The item cost only no more.
There must be more radios out there.
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Thanks all, I tried altering the total, it won't let me.
It was just a nice option cos it was made the same year as my car, I'm no anorack but it would be a nice addition.
But that seals it he's getting no more than the winning bid....
Cheers All.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Surely, it depends what is said on the ad.
No postage listed, no postal payable.

No mention of a £5 postal charge anywhere, can't see he has a leg to stand on, report him if you don't get it delivered for your winning
bid.

Not unreasonable at all!
I recall in my early ebay days, I listed a dry-sump tank and stated 'free delivery' in the ad... forgot to ad "UK only"!
A guy from OZ bought it for £40... it cost me £43 to send the bloody thing! Took it on the chin, but the guy was spot on and voluntarily split the
postage cost with me!

Slightly off topic... but a couple of years ago someone was selling mini moto's on ebay for 0.01p plus £350 p&p. I emailled to see if he
would let me collect one
He wasn't having any of it. Duely reported to ebay and removed.
Seems to be alot of scamming on ebay... beware of the dodgy buggers.
You are within your rights not to pay the fiver. F**k him
