Bending 4mm strips of steel!

Hi all!
i went a bit mental with the metal for the support strips for the front wheel arches and ended up with 4mm steel!

how would i go about bending it into the necessary shape?

not too sure the bender will cope!

would it be a matter of heating it,them letting it cool gradually?

cheers

Aaron

what sort of bend do you need? just a right angle? put it in a good solid vice, and batter it with a big hammer
with enough care, it can work pretty well.

I think mine was 1/4" thick. I bent it cold in the bench vice, but my arms and pecs were aching by the time I finished!

shouldnt matter if you coolit in a bucket of water. Its not load bearing, so it wont matter.

Yeah, i would go for warming it up a bit, and whacking it in a vice.
- You could probably cold work it ok, but i would heat a bit to make life easier and the bend better. Allow to cool naturaly.
