Back to suspension

A few weeks back i posted about suspension,a couple of people stated how the cool measurements were wrong!
how so?
are they too long?
what suspension lengths are correct for a ron champion locost?

assuming you mean the actual coilover shocks rather than your suspension arms, you can measure up once the arms and hubs are fitted to the car.

- Lower arms want to be roughly level at ride height.

- You ideal want up to two inches of droop from here before anything binds.

- If you measure between the top and bottom coilover bolt holes when the lower wishbone is at its lowest point (and not binding), you have your open length. You may have to guestimate if you have yet welded bracket on. Be sure the spring clears the top bone in droop.


You can then pick specific springs.

I found out that the upper wishbone balljoint is the first which can't move enough.

So try to avoid stress in all parts. The coil-over is made for that, and not a balljoint.





Please feel free to correct my bad English, i'm still learning. Your Dutch is awfull! :-)
