SVA Mirrors

Does anybody know of a good supplier of external (wing) mirrors that are SVA complient?

Fireblade...

LONG type from CBR600 give best view over rear arches. Plan carefully for best positioning! Our replica blade mirrors cost less than half original Honda.

Where did you source them from Helfire?

We got ours from a motorcycle spares shop in Doncaster. They have the same replica mirrors on this website but slightly more expensive. I'm sure if you shop around, you'll find them cheaper.

There are loads on there, what are the SVA rules? Do the arms as well as the mirrors have to deflect rearwards?

ZXR 400

I used the above. None of the mirror needs to deflect as it is within the confines of the body, unless you get some caravan extenders and they stick out further than the rear wings.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I thought about towing a caravan but was worried about the effect on fuel economy!!!!!!!! So decided against it.

So as far as SVA is concerned I can put on any of the fancy chrome ones advertised on that site.

What do you think about the suitability and SVA worthyness of these?

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

The bottom ones look the same as the ones that MK sell. They told me at Stoneleigh that they were OK if mounted high enough on the scuttle.

So is this the main mirror problem encountered during SVA ?

Nick,

in order to get good rear visibility, the mirrors need to have fairly long stems OR be mounted high enough on the scuttle, to be able to see above the rear wings. I would suggest getting a pair of long stemmed mirrors for SVA and then afterwards when they've fallen off, fit what you want.

I started with bike mirrors but then fitted Tiger ones. Much to my surprise they are well made and good value, and should pass the SVA fine, some pics on archive.
