no not that unlucky, but i know someone who lost nearly a fiver on burger if that makes life more bearable.

Did you take a picture of the said pothole, where theres blame theres a claim, which you are entitled to make to the council. One of the resons why potholes are left is that the cost of repair far outweighs the cost of claims against them

Yes

I bend 2 wheels on that pothole. I plan on trying to claim against the council.

I stopped and got pics. Will upload after dinner.

There was also a guy in a yellow kit (didn't get close enough to see what it was) that had hit it and ripped the front off the car.

We passed the yellow kit (old Midas or early GTM?) with the front end smashed as we left. If he hadn't been there we might have hit the hole.

I think it was a gtm Rossa or Midas, poor guy, it was carted away by the AA , also saw somedody else in a tin top stopped near it on the way in on SAT . Me thinks the local council will be getting a lot of solicitors letters . I did that 20 years ago , they paid up pronto. good luck !

That is truly shocking!! must be gutting to take your pride and joy out only for for day to end up with your car being trashed.

Definately time to get some cash out of the council.

I hit that/drove in it what a shock it was as well. It doesn’t seem to have done any damage luckily.

I hit it too on Sunday afternoon, there was a car few hundred yards up road inspecting his nearside,
Luckily looks like i got away with it this time, but did claim against local council last year when a pothole wrecked the tyre on my tintop, took 9 months to sort but i got 85% of the tyre cost, (tip get quote from dearest company and include cost of alignment check, )
hth Mitch
ps beware using same pics, they may think its a scam if 10-15 peeps use them on there claims,

Just been sent a link to this site/ topic .... I trashed one of my tyres at Stoneleigh, not quite sure where as it was only as i went through the entrance that i was told .... The hole was about 1/2 " , but luckily minimum rim damage.

Had to buy a new tyre on site, and luckily the Westfield slalom tyre fitter put it on for me!!

Doubt if it's worth me pursuing compensation..... but you can add my name to the list !!!

narrowly missed it myself, only spotted it at the last minute as i was concentrating on passing the stationary car (GTM Rosso?) and had to swerve violently at the last moment. My sympathies to the owner of that car, looked expensive.
