previous owners

my mk has had 2 previous owners before me.....yet the logbook says 4 !!! is this due to the car my indy got the number plate from?...a 1983 ford sierra....how does it work do they add the owners from first car to the owners on the kit car??? confused

How do you know it had 2 owners if the logbook says 4? Are you sure the previous owner didnt tell you porkies assuming it was their word??

it says mk on the logbook.....previous owner told me he bought it from the guy who built it

spoken to the guy i bought it off.....the extra owners came as a result of the original car the number plate came from being a sierra.......and it had 2 owners....then the number was put on my mk.......first owner was the builder...i have his name and address...next came the guy i bought it from ......

That sounds weird to me.

I thought even if you get an age related plate, the car's considered a new one, new logbook etc?

Perhaps if it was done Pre-SVA, but I'm not sure MK was about before SVA?

If you change numberplates, doesn't it come up as a new owner? Or is that a porkie some guy told me when trying to sell one of his cars?
