Welcome to the madhouse. Have you done some research and decided on those three kits that you want, or are they the only three manufacturers you've come across?

There are some other manufacturers you may also wish to consider........

Phil

Hello and welcome

A bit of advice, take your CAPS lock off!

Regarding the kit, its so personal, no one can possible decide for you. Check them all out thoroughly and write a list of the most important features you want in a kit and then buy the one that best matches your criteria!

Good luck!

Welcome Brookie.

A few things:

1)Welcome to LCB, your one stop shop for anything car and non car related. You have a question, somebody here will have the answer!

2) Dont shout (caps) your only a foot away from me!

3) Your original question is a complicated one. Things to consider is your engine type (it does make a difference), looking and actually sitting in the cars, location of the manufactures and finally its your final choice. We all love our own cars for different reasons. Buy the car you want.

Hope that helps,

Biz

its a bit late now but try to get to a show (newark was great in the sun today) and sit in as many as you can and talk to the owners and ask about the build and service of the suppliers.
my car isnt exactly "low cost" but its still the one i chose after doing lots of research and chatting to other builders and drivers.
go for the one that ticks the most boxes for you
and enjoy it. Rescued attachment Nemises 016.jpg

brookie, if you're on a budget, you should also consider the car from Aries.
http://www.ariesmotorsport.co.uk/

As for budget, 5k to 7k will depend on engine choice, on how many parts you're willing to collect from donor cars and recondition yourself, etc.

It seems to me that going Bike Engined instead of using a car engine (Zetec) makes your car anywhere between 1k and 4k more expensive (depending on engine type and if on carbs or injection).

If you want your car to be road-legal. careful where you cut corners to make your budget meet.

HappyFather

P.S. - Forgot to say, thus editing post... You can first buy and build a "base" car. Later on, after having it road legal and having had some fun, start to make changes and add more power or more shiny to it. This line of action also helps meet budget.
