Doesn't seem massively over what it would cost (when you include any packing materials and time - something people forget when
they're buying).
Edit: I read £20 as the postage, not the £190!!! Same as eznfrank I suspect 
I'd be more worried about buying something where:
1. the seller doesn't say anything beyond the minimum - I'd be happier if the seller came out and said "working when removed from
the car" or similar not that that's any guarantee.
2. where the photo shows a green plastic bag on a pallet rather than a gearbox.

I'm thinking more along the lines that Ebay don't charge fees on postage and the 'buy it now' is so low. that with the no
collection, you'd be gutted if you live 5 miles away.

Not extortionate? Er, will you buy a bunch of stuff off me please - I'll charge you very reasonable postage .
Gonna be around 50kg, which I'd get shipped via DHL or someone similar here at work for well under 50 quid. If you really want it, maybe try
contacting the seller and say you'll have it but arrange your own courrier (or ask him to phone one for a more sensible quote).
EDIT: Ah - didn't clock the low buy it now price. It's not toooo bad overall then, I guess. Just Ebay fee avoidance.

You could always say that you live about a 2 min walk, and see what they would say then, just make sure you change the location on ebay say, its in
hemsworth and your location is devon etc, change it to hemsworth

If it turns out the item is broken/wrong and you need to claim a refund, you'll only be able to claim the item's price, not the
postage.
I'd report the seller to ebay for "fee avoidance"...

I bought a hydraulic ram which weighed 36kg on ebay recently, it said get in touch for a postage quote before bidding if you dont want to pick it up,
so I did. The fella used the carrier his work has a contract with & the quote was £180! He admitted it was comical & invited me to sort the
courier myself & he'd pack it. 10mins on the net got me a good few quotes under £40 all in.
