There is a calculator online somewhere or maybe a book like "Forced Induction Tuning" by A G Bell would help.

All about flow - RPM is irrelevant really.
What 1.6 are you using?

Something like a T38 would work, though this is normally fitted to 2L engines.
You need to look at the compressor maps, to understand where the peak power is going to be, and at which point it spools up.

No need to rev to 8600 - turbo will do the work!
Have a read of this:

Link works fine.
I think you need to do a bit more research.
No need to rev your 1600 that high, especially with a turbo.
At that RPM, you will be putting a lot of stress on the engine and unless you have some serious rods, forget it.
You have to decide what you are going to do with the car.
Only then will you be able to pick your turbo.

yes i have proper forged rods, and a nice crank too the engine used to rev round to that when N/A, i agree i need to do more research which is one of
the reasons i made this post as i was not sure how you choose a turbo to suit a certain application i work near aet turbo's so ill pop in there
and have a chat with them
