Mondeo MaSTER Cylinder connection question
guys i bought my car as am a numpty with most things mechanical - so forgive the possible naivety of this question.
I've read through the various threads on the forum that the often used Sierra type master cylinder is not ideally suited to the type of brake
set ups that many of our cars have. Mine has discs front + rear ( hi-spec ).
I've never been 100% happy with teh amount of effort required to get the car to stop.
I've been casting around trying to find a suitable master cylinder with a smaller bore as my pedal box is standfard sierra ( so no twin
cylinders etc). the issue i have is lack of space due to the fuel rail.
A bit of research reveals that actually the M/C i have is a monedo one with 4 outlets, and it seems that whoever fitted it used all 4 outlets - ie/ 2
front/2 rear. I've read that most set ups just use 2 fro fronts and a 3rd Teed to the rears. I'm wondering if changing the way it's
plumbed in would make any difference to the pressure of the system and therefore perhaps i'd get the feel and power that i'm looking for
( without having to change to a smaller bore m/c??? or does having 2/3/4 lines plumbed into the M/C make no difference at all???
cheers mark

Mondeo master cylinder is even more unsuitable than the Sierra, it is a 25.4 bore.
You need something with a 19mm or 17mm bore

Changing the plumbing won't help, sorry.
