R1 engine

Hi guys, firstly apologies for my first post being a for-sale post, I'm not a Locost builder, I just read the site occasionally looking at interesting projects. I'm a long-standing member of SXOC (200SX owners club) and Driftworks using the same username, and this is a genuine item for sale, however I understand if this is against your forum rules, if it is please feel free to delete this post

I bought a Reliant Kitten and this R1 engine almost two years ago with the intention of mating the two together and entering the PPC £999 challenge, it never happened due to a combination of factors and the Kitten is now sold but the R1 engine is still sat in my dining room. I'm not going to use it for anything so I need to get rid!

It's a 4XV head on a 5JJ bottom end (stronger first gear apparently) and it was in a race bike originally, the exhaust ports have apparently been slightly enlarged which is a standard racing mod, it has everything with it - loom, carbs, coils, ECU, airbox, starter, literally everything. Because it was in a race bike the loom has been stripped of all unnecessary wiring for lights etc, it's just the bare minimum to run the engine. Comes with a rev counter and a solar-powered temp gauge also, both from the bike. There was no exhaust manifold with the engine but the dude who supplied it threw in a manifold from a CBR900, it's almost an exact fit, just needs a bit of fettling, sadly it's titanium so you can't just cut and weld it, plus it's completely wrong for fitting longitudinally in a car - pretty sure you'd need something custom for the exhaust side of things. The engine was allegedly "refreshed" at a bike specialist in Leicester before we bought it, no evidence for this apart from the word of the dude who sold it to us and the fresh sealant on the sump.

I also have a sprocket-adaptors.co.uk sprocket adapter to go with it, I've lost the bolts which came with it but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to source some replacements.

The whole lot cost me ~£650 including buying the adapter, I'll take £500 collected because I need the space, no offers.

Thanks for reading.

Matt

PS. I'm in Rugby, Warwickshire
