exhaust wrap?
going to get some wrap for the exhaust mannifold as i swear my feet started to COOK! what sizes and how much should i need to do a four into one
branch ? width sizes also- whats easier to use?
Any other heat related comments /suggestins ?

Hi Robby,
If you're wrapping a manifold go for the 1" wide stuff, much easier to make tight, tidy wraps on the bend. Would have thought 50'
would do you.

I got mine from merlin Motorsports. Got 2 rolls and was perfect for my Cats pipes. Not bad price but can't remember how much exactly.

One warning, which some of the supplier catalogues carry - having exhaust wrap on can cause increased corrosion in the pipes, leading to premature
failure.
You might like to think twice about it if your down-pipes are made of thin-wall pipe (like mine).

In the US, there's an outfit that makes a ceramic coating that you can cure in your kitchen oven:

This allows coating of the insides of the pipes, though people do the outsides, too, for cosmetic purposes. Ceramics are very effective; they move
the heat right out of the car and give long life to headers.
I couldn't find any DIY exhaust ceramics in a UK Google search  Still wonder, though, if calling around ceramics houses might not produce a
company willing to support Locost builders.
Another option would be to insulate your firewall.

Demon Tweeks sell the DIY stuff or there is a firm called CAMCOAT (on web) in Warington that will do a 4 branch (inside & out) for circa £100

Hmm, Demon Tweaks sells a Cermakrome product made by Techline, that Techline has pulled from their retail list for the US  Not safe for home oven
curing anymore, apparently. Frankly, I'd try it and give the oven a good cleaning after. DT sells 6 oz. (about the right amount, I'd
guess) for £30.
DT also sells the Black Satin product, which needs no curing. £24 for 4 oz.
