Changing fuse box

Hello all, am due back to the UK soon and am looking to tidy up the MK Indy. One of the jobs I want to do is to replace the original R1 fuse box, that is hidden behind the scuttle, with a surface mounted one on the scuttle (so easier to replace fuses etc). Do I just chop out the old fuse box and splice the wires into the new one? Or is it more complicated that that?

Thanks

Lee

Why not extend the wires to the original and put that where you can get at it?

Was thinking of that but it does not look very good, as it is the original bike one.

Mine is just cable tied against the loom. Cut the tie and the box pulls away enough to change the fuse. Never changed one yet, during or after the build.
Its simple to change if you make sure it is connected the same way, but personally if you are not very confident, either get someone to help or leave it as I doubt you will ever change a fuse!
