Donorvehicle bought for 250 Euro!!!!!!

Yessssssss!!! I'm in biznizzzzzzz!!

I've bought a Vauxhall Omega today!!
2.0 8v (c20ne)
With almost everything I need to start building --> Diff, gearbox, engine, axles....

And the great thing about using an Omega (apart from being a Vauxhall...) is that the engine is the same engine as used in astra's etc. --> the block is exactly the same as the 20XE's only with a different head..... So after SVA and the rest of the legal stuff it will be very easy to fit a 20XE..... everything allready fits!!!

Think you might have some trouble with the gearbox.... if its the one I'm thinking of... its got the starter motor bit on the wrong side of the engine. It's the 1.8 gearbox you want. Though maybe your right and the Omega had the same engine as the astra's ?? I know the carlton's and manta's had the wrong gearbox in.

I wouldn't let the starter thing bother you, just adapt the chassis to suit Rescued attachment StarterMod.JPG

Not talking about it's placement in the chassis... its on the wrong side for the XE block.... Unless it really is a 2.0L gearbox thats made for the astra engine

I'm pretty sure I've got the right gearbox!!
There are 2 options (using standard Vauxhall stuff) if you want to have a RWD 20XE...
First there's the 1.8s Manta box --> works fine, I have one in my GT!!
And there's the Omega box, the one that comes with the c20ne engine...
That's the one I will be using!!

Thanks guys for your concern!!!

A Omega have been my everyday car for the past 1,5 years, it is a nice car. As I expected a MOT failure I've consider it for a donor but gave it up as it needs new wheel bearings and they cost more than a more interesting donor.

Happy building!
