R1 carb bits missing and performance

Now im getting into the oil problem with my carbs ive noticed that they have been supplied to me without certain parts by Bogg Bros. I dont have the bits that fit onto the intake side and hold the rubber trumpets on. Will the absence of these parts make any difference to the performance of the carbs as the air is not entering them as Yamaha intended?
Cheers.

Well, it turns out that i dont even have R1 carbs. They are Kawazaki ZX9R! I have been onto Bogg Bros after digging out my receipt, just to make sure and we have come to an arrangement that im very pleased with.

How do you tell? How many turns out do you have on each carb? Boggs said 2 to 2 1/2 for the R1's which was way over the MOT limit on the emissions.

Your MOT limits with a pinto I think should be just visible smoke, was it that bad! My R1s are around 1 3/4 turns

Do you have R1 carbs or ZX(R carbs ?
you will never get them right with out a rolling road set up
have the jets been drilled out ? what size ?
My engine is not standard so the jets are drilled to 1.7
The needles have been lifted
The air correction holes are blocked
The air screws are one turn out
having said all that yours could / will be different to mine

I have ZX9 now
The jets have been drilled by Boggs to 1.8mm
They will need setting up again soon.
Other than that they are the same as yours Jacko. including the roundness.
