Large lathe needed for 510mm Dia tooling

Hi all,

I reckon this is a great place to ask this kind of question, so here goes......

I'm having problems having something turned on a lathe, the tooling company I was going to use don't have a large enough lathe or chuck? for the steel tool i need making it's 510mm diameter.

Does anyone know of tool makers or a company with a lathe large enough to cope?

Thanks in advance.

We use Gee Engineering for our big stuff, don't know how far they go but I think they could cope with that OK.

They are in Nottingham NG7.

They have a basic website with their details on but I can't post a link - it comes up in Google easy enough.

HTH.

I'm sure I heard (quite sometime ago) someone on here worked for a place that had a lathe with a 6' chuck.

I could be mistaken though.
