hi,am building a locost with a 2003 yamaha fazer 1000 with carbs as standard and has the standard air box plus filter and exhaust.I have been informed that this engine will not get through iva as it will be tested as a car of that year and would be fitted with a cat ?is this true ?if so what are my options if any ?

yes your bike engine will need to meet car emmissions, yes your engine will go through IVA emmissions, you will need a cat and a bit of carb tuning but bike engines go through IVA everyday.
no need to panic.
