1.8 zetec megajolt or not
hi guys iv recently got myself a 1.8 zetec with loom and ecu transponder and key for a hynes roadster. would like to go down the bike carb route but
seeing as i have all the parts for the engine to go in as it was in the escort with the emoberliser is it worth it. i no theres less wiring to do if
the carbs go in and the horses will be higher on carbs. i cant seem to find anything on these megajolt systems how easy are they are to do prices
etc. somone did tell me that if i new a good sparky i could get one made! does this mean keeping the ecu from the zetec?also what type of carbs are
people using r1 gsxr? any info would b much appreciated.

I'd say stick with the standard set up, and save up to fit bike throttle bodies/injectors/programmable ECU after the first year.
Search for big_wasa on here. I know he has a zetec running off all the standard bits including ECU. To quote his comments from an earlier thread:
"Some ecu's are self learning to some extent and when running closed loop will add the fuel needed within its set parameters.
Zetec "should" produce an extra 15bhp over stock with breathing mods on a standard ecu. "

standard ecu drives much better than carbs in the mid range but your carbs may give a little more top end. Ive had the webers ect and the efi is much
better.
