What do people think of this?

Hi all,

whats people general opinion of this? His feedback leaves a bit to be desired.. But what are your thoughts, is the engine any good in a kit car or does 191cc's just not cut it ?

Looks alright and should be good value around the £4k mark.

The sellers feedback is shocking though...

That's a popular engine so no issues there.

You really need to go and see a car like that before buying and make your own mind up.

Yes I would do, although this one is in Newcastle I must admit after travelling all round the UK I wouldn't go that far for it.

While you are here, if I was to buy a car engined one and wanted a bike engine in it, is it just a case of buying an engine bearer for the new engine and modding it in ?

Oh and his reserve is £4700

You'd need to fabricate new engine-mounts and a gear-change linkage.

You'd need an ecu, exhaust manifold and prop to go with the bike-engine of your choice.

Yes sorry mate I knew that bit, its just how the engine mounts to the frame that I've not seen, I need to find some build threads really and go through them.

919 blade engines are more than enough! Avoneer's bitsablade left pretty much everything for dead round elvington.

As for buying a CEC to make into a BEC, it can be done, but there are significant costs involved when you add up all the bits.

Engine
Loom
Cradle
Cradle mounts
Prop
Centre bearing mount
Gear linkage inc tunnel mods for gear lever or paddles
Exhaust manifold/silencer
Cooling system
Bonnet/Sidepanel patches
Fuel lines
Swirl pot/new tank if you go injected
Dampers/springs

It all adds up.......

I'll probably convert mine eventually, but it's because i'm too attached to it to ever sell it, not because it's the sensible way round it

i converted my cec to a bec for about a grand all in. You dont need a cradle necessarily, just weld bars in where necessary to support the engine. zx9 was dead easy to mount.

ps that feedback is too bad for me. Even though a cash on collection sale would probably go smoothly, the guy is clearly a messer and id rather not give him the time of day, nevermind nearly £5k.

Feed back is very representative of the hassle I had with him when buying an MK aeroscreen of him earlier in the year, be more than a little wary.......
