Is a hayabusa a GSXR?

I want to replace the horn button badge and
quite fancy one that relates to the hayabusa engine in mine. I'm not really up on bike models but i know mine is a gsx 1300r hayabusa. Would this be know as a gsxr and would something like this look silly?

So is that badge incorrect for a hayabusa?

could be a GSX1340R too

I have no idea to your question but it seems reasonable enough to assume it would be (fanboy bikers may have another idea though)

AFAIK a lot of most suzuki's have a number and a name, so its correct badging would be Hayabusa GSX1300R, just as the Bandit is the (i believe) Bandit GSF1200.

Been a while since I was on bikes though.

GSXR is correct and refers to GSXR 750s from 1985 to date, GSXR 1100s from 86-98, GSXR 600s from 97 to date, GSXR 1000s from 01 to date and GSXR 1300s from 99 to date.

There were also GSXR 400s and 250s, both little 4 cylinder screamers produced exclusively for the jap market.

Now where did I put my anorak?

It's not a GSXR in my eyes so for me the badge would be incorrect. I'm not a fanboy biker though! lol

On a 'Busa it says GSX 1300 R as stated above, the GSXR xxx bikes are the ones that have that exact symbol/graphic on them

PS I'd look for a badge with the busa logo (the Japanese symbol type thingy) if it were me

Weird - despite being a bit of a bike geek, I'd always thought it was a GSXR1300, which did always seem a bit incongruous to me; but then better than Kawasaki selling the GPZ500 as a 'ninja', nevermind the CBR125 etc now.

Anyway, technically the badge does have the 'R' seperate, so probably is appropriate - but I'd agree the Hayabusa Japanese lettering is a bit classier as such. In the end; I suspect anyone actually appreciating an actual 'GSXR' badge probably won't care that it's not quite accurate .
