Insurance woes

A few weeks ago I got myself a nice early DB7, much to precious to use in the rain so have purchased an old v40 Volvo diesel to chug around in.

So here's the rub:

DB7 fully comp including business miles £573 p.a
V40 fully comp £875

Thought, not a problem, stick the Aston on a limited mileage classic policy .... they want £1,800+ for 3000 miles p.a jez.

Its all mad, I insured my daughter with on a mini 1, 18 years old complete with 1 written off Peugoet 106 within 4 hours of passing her test for less than £800, zero no claims..... Go figure.

Tried multicar, they want even more, has anyone any other suggestions although should not be sad as I now have my life car

The BEC cost £150 fully comp with £3000 miles a few years ago

Unfortunately they wanted £1,800 for a 3000 mile classic car policy and were cheaper as a daily runner this then came down to around £900.

You know its going to be bad when they extol the virtues, free recovery, legal fees etc

Try Henderson Taylor for high specification car insurance, they're well regarded and every time i've had a quote from them, they've been the cheapest by quite a margin.

They only insure top end cars though, Astons, Ferraris, Porsches etc

Try Footman James. They do an unlimited mileage policy and insure my GT6 for £116.

Henderson Taylor it is, still expensive at just under £600 but I can accure no claims on the policy and it includes 5 track days a year which will not get used, not sure what it means though.

Means I can stick the volvo on the Aviva policy and get a little rebate, so job done

Thanks for your help chaps

Regards Mark

Try heritage, cheapest by far for me on the Manta.

You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.

I sometimes me thinks the actuaries or whoever (tea boy) sets rates for particular vehicles just feel like taking the p*** now and then.
